Group News Editor. Posted 11-11-11. Woodward Communications, Inc. is seeking a Group News Editor for the Dyersville Commercial and Cascade Pioneer weekly newspapers.

The qualified candidate must have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent; a minimum of two years of newspaper or related media/communications experience, combined with supervisory experience being preferred; and have ability with management concepts and practices including budgeting, overall newspaper operations and current events.

The position includes working with the publisher on the planning, directing and executing editorial content of both papers. It includes writing editorials, and assigning local stories and photographs to the editorial staff as well as covering stories with reporting and photography.

Ability with Indesign, Photoshop, Excel, web elements, video and social media preferred.
